IBP are currently recruting for a Plant, Fleet and Logistics Assisatnt. The first part of your role will be working closely alongside our Transport Team to ensure all vehicles are kept in a safe, roadworthy and legal condition, to maintain compliance with all relevant regulations, company policies and rules. The role will also involve oversight and tracking of vehicles, as well as the various assets and other equipment used.
The second half of the role rolewill involve Stock Control, Goods Inward / Outwards, Serving inhouse operatives as well as our wide range of sub-contractors, General warehouse housekeeping indoors / outdoors. We are currently updating all systems with hand heldtechnology so is an ideal time to join.
The main duties include the responsibility for the following:
- Monitor and report on compliance within the region.
- Plan, prepare, control available resource to the correct department
- Plan new driver inductions, equipment, and vehicle issue
- Engage with Logistics team to support administration & e-mail traffic
- Control all vehicle issues & returns, recording all data within Fleet Management System.
- Manage all vehicle defects, minimize VOR Downtime and ensure reporting system is updated.
- Ensuring all Assets & Vehicles are kept in a safe and legal condition to maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Monitor performance in line with company procedures, policies, and rules, and to challenge any non-conformity where necessary.
- Ensure that our assets and equipment are maintained and tracked across the business, conducting safety inspections and auditing equipment.
- Liaise with other Regions, Departments and M Group functions and encourage a One Team approach.
- Take on new assignments when required.
The Ideal candidate must possess the following skills and experience:
- No two days can be the same, a level of flexibility and ownership will be required to allow you to respond and react to changing business needs.
- Good communication skills – be able to confidently conversate at all levels.
- Strong Excel & Outlook skills required
- Good technology skills.
- Ability to interoperate and understand legislation.
- Excellent attention to detail.
